(Just two sites reporting again today, as we are commencing an exercise to calibrate the sensors to a higher standard using a specially mixed calibration gas.  We will show the last complete graph for 21 day averages at the four sites for the time being – up to 06 April). 

After Monday’s lows for the year, concentrations picked up on Tuesday afternoon, bringing daily average values back to more typical levels both in the CBD (Petrie Terrace) and on the city edge (Bellbird Park).

This last week saw daily mean (preliminary) values at NOAA’s Mauna Loa site exceed 425 ppm for the first time, as shown by the individual data points in the fourth graph below, about 10 ppm higher than in the southern hemisphere at Kennaook/Cape Grim in Tasmania. Both sites report data for “well-mixed” air free of local anthropogenic sources, based on their location and prevailing winds.
