The overall daily average on Sunday was 429 ppm. The Bellbird Park site did not show its usual elevated night-time values (compare first and second graphs). 

New York City is one of the world’s highest greenhouse gas emitting cities.  The third chart summarises results of a study that attempts to model the relative contributions of different sources as well as the offsetting effects of urban vegetation.  The two green lines model urban vegetation as either deciduous broadleaf forest (DBF) or grassland (GRS).  During daylight hours, vegetation is estimated to more or less offset transport emissions in NYC, but is insufficient to prevent the city being a 24-hour net source as transport is only one contributor to overall emissions. In winter-time, of course, there would be minimal photosynthetic carbon dioxide reduction and a substantial additional source related to heating.
